Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

What do I need to know about my library passwords?

Our answer:

Only registered students and staff can be given access to the Online Library, and users must adhere to the terms of use.

  • If you have any problems with your student portal password, please contact the Student Advice Centre
  • When choosing a password, make it difficult for anyone to guess but easily remembered, and use a mix of numbers and unusual capitalization.
  • It is essential that you do not share your library passwords with anyone, even with friends and to use them for purposes for which they have been provided.
  • If possible, avoid writing passwords down.
  • Never speak your password aloud at any time, especially in public.
  • If you suspect your password has been compromised, change it immediately.
  • The Online Library must be used within copyright law (see our copyright guide for details)
  • Any suspected misuse could lead to your library access being terminated.
