If you are looking for an item on your reading list such as a book or journal article, you may find in your Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) a link to the item, in which case you should use that link to access the item.
If there is no link in your VLE – or if you are looking for something that is not on your reading list – you can find out whether it is available in the Library by searching for it in the Library’s ‘Summon’ search engine. You can search Summon using the search box on the Library home page and also from your Study Programme Gateway.
It is usually better to enter the title of the book or article and the author’s surname, rather than the whole citation.
See our Using Summon guide for help with searching Summon.
If your VLE or Study Guide directs you to a specific Library database to find the reading, then you could instead log into that database from your Study Programme Gateway and search for it within that database.
If you cannot find an item in the Library, please contact us. If the item is on your reading list, please tell us the module when you contact us. If we do not have the item, we may be able to purchase it or arrange to get a copy from another library.
