Happy Pride Month June 2026

Stonewall activist, Marsha P. Johnson once said "There is no pride for some of us without liberation for all of us." This sentiment beautifully connects with this year’s Pride Month, 2026 theme "For All of Us".  Below are a few books from the Online Library’s collections, that truly embrace and celebrate this concept of working and learning from and for each other within the LGBTQ+ community.

Readers would be hard pressed to find a book that offers more diversity and inclusion from across the continent of Africa on the topics of LGBTQI identities.  Examples of what this book offers that make it impactful as a unique primary source are chapters ranging in topics from prison sexuality, queerness and sex in segregated South Africa or Nigerian MSM Masculinity to  9 different trans experiences in Swaziland.

Although initially written as a core text for Gender and Education majors…this book is now regarded as a pivotal resource for anyone pursuing management within Higher Education. A great read for anyone wanting to become an ally or make a difference for equity and equality.

The Oxford Handbook of Global LGBT and Sexual Diversity Politics

Edited by Michael J. Bosia , Sandra M. McEvoy and Momin Rahman 

A bible of the Sexual Diversity and LGBTQ+ politics, this handbook encompasses topics ranging from Human, Decolonization, NGOs, HIV, Same Sex Marriage, Binary Concept, Queer Muslims, Education, Activism and a host of other important topics affecting the LGBTQ+ community.  It is a highly regarded academic source of information.
