ABI/INFORM is a database covering business, management, economics and a wide range of related fields. It provides abstracts of material from 1971 onwards and over 2,000 titles in full text, from 1987 onwards.

Updated daily, Academic Search Complete is a multi-disciplinary database with full text coverage of almost 4,700 scholarly publications, including full text coverage of over 3,600 peer-reviewed journals dating as far back as 1975.

Cambridge University Press publishes a prestigious list of scholarly journals, ranging across the humanities, social sciences and STM disciplines, made available electronically through Cambridge Core. Our subscription also includes a small but growing collection of e-books in Cambridge Core.

As the official digital dissertations archive for the Library of Congress and as the database of record for graduate research, PQDTGlobal includes millions of searchable citations to dissertations and theses from 1861 to the present day together with over a million full-text dissertations.

This database is the most comprehensive available record of doctoral theses from the United Kingdom and Ireland, with abstracts accepted for higher degrees by universities in the United Kingdom and Ireland, since 1716. There are no full-text dissertations in this database.

ISRCTN registry

The ISRCTN registry is a primary clinical trial registry recognised by WHO and ICMJE that accepts all clinical research studies (whether proposed, ongoing or completed), providing content validation and curation and the unique identification number necessary for publication. All study records in the database are freely accessible and searchable.

A digital archive collection of core scholarly journals. It is unique in that complete archives of these journals have been digitised, starting with the very first issues, many of which were published as far back as the nineteenth century. The Online Library's subscription covers the Arts and Science Collections 1-15.

 

Medline via PubMed

Free access to Medline, a leading medical, bibliographic database covering allied health, biological and physical sciences, humanities and information science as they relate to medicine and health care, communication disorders, population biology, and reproductive biology. Includes Clinical Queries feature that focuses on evidence based medicine. 

Please note that this database only contains citations and abstracts, not full text documents.

New York Academy of Medicine Grey Literature Report

The report is a bimonthly publication of The New York Academy of Medicine alerting readers to new grey literature publications in health services research and selected public health topics. Grey literature is "That which is produced on all levels of government, academics, business and industry in print and electronic formats, but which is not controlled by commercial publishers."

NHS Evidence

Provides access to selected and authoritative evidence in health, social care and public health. Provided by the UK National Health Service.

OpenGrey

System for Information on Grey Literature in Europe, is your open access to 700.000 bibliographical references of grey literature (paper) produced in Europe and allows you to export records and locate the documents.

Examples of grey (gray) literature include technical or research reports, doctoral dissertations, some conference papers, some official publications, and other types of grey literature.

OpenGrey covers Science, Technology, Biomedical Science, Economics, Social Science and Humanities.

Oxford Academic

Through the Oxford Academic platform, the Online Library provides access to over two hundred journals published by Oxford University Press. This is a multi-disciplinary database, with journals covering a wide range of topics in the humanities, sciences and law. Please note that our subscriptions do not cover all titles in this database.

POPLINE

POPLINE provides access to 370,000 selected publications and resources related to family planning and reproductive health.

Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg offers over 70,000 free ebooks. It is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, and most of the items in its collection are the full texts of public-domain books.

Project MUSE

You can only log into this database using your student portal password.

Project MUSE is a leading provider of digital humanities and social sciences content. It currently includes 468,570 articles and 1,177,319 chapters by 265 publishers, on a wide variety of topics including education, history, literature, medicine, philosophy, economics, politics and technology.

SAGE Journals Online is the delivery platform that provides online access to the full text of individual SAGE journals. We subscribe to three collections in SAGE: the Education Collection, the Management and Organisation Studies Collection, and the Politics and International Relations Collection.

SAGE Research Methods contains material designed to guide students and other researchers through the research process. The Online Library subscribes to the collection of instructional videos by world-leading academics from across the social sciences. Scopus is a multidisciplinary abstract and citation database from Elsevier, with over 91 million records.

Springer Protocols

SpringerProtocols is an online database of reproducible laboratory protocols in the biomedical and life sciences. The Online Library does not subscribe to this database, so you can only access free protocols. These have a yellow F next to the title, or can be found by clicking 'Free Protocols' on the right side of the page.

Taylor and Francis

The Online Library's subscription covers two collections of journals: the Science and Technology Collection, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Collection.  

The Lancet

Open access to selected articles. The Lancet journals consist of a weekly journal, The Lancet, plus nine monthly specialty journals in the fields of global health, diabetes and endocrinology, oncology, neurology, psychiatry, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases, haematology and HIV.

Trip

Trip is a tool to find clinical research evidence, with millions of articles indexed. Please note that you will not be able to use Advanced Search or any other 'Pro' feature.

VLeBooks

VLeBooks is the Online Library's principal e-book database, with over 3,000 titles on a wide variety of subjects.
